Since 2000, David Borneman has conducted over 1,000 prescribed burns on more than 15,000 acres as a private contractor on private lands, regional parks, golf courses, hunting preserves, farms, city and township parks, schools, metro airports, and corporate campuses throughout the Midwest. In addition, since 1993, David directed the Natural Area Preservation Division of the City of Ann Arbor for 28 years, leading its efforts to restore and manage 1200 acres of undeveloped parkland.

David has conducted burns in MI, OH, IL and IN covering thousands of acres as a Prescribed Burn Leader with burn crews of up to 15 members.
